Lead the development and oversee the delivery of the WFP Country Strategic Plan (CSP) in the country, leveraging partnerships and effective planning and utilization of human and financial resources, ensuring compliance and adherence to WFP policies and procedures, standards of performance, ethics and integrity; Contribute to the development of corporate WFP strategies and policies, ensuring that operational realities inform effective planning and that WFP corporate initiatives and strategies are deployed promoting and driving positive change; Provide effective leadership and people management to the Country Office team to ensure the continued development of a cohesive and high performing WFP country team; Engage with the national government with the objective to better support longer-term sustainable solutions, address immediate humanitarian needs, promote humanitarian- development nexus, and actively contribute towards negotiating humanitarian space/access, participating in and effectively building on the longer-term vision of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals principle of ‘Leave No One Behind’; Positively represent WFP to media, promoting and safeguarding its reputation, advocating for WFP activities, raising resources and taking well-planned actions to contribute to WFP’s mandate in saving lives and changing lives; In close consultation and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, develop and oversee planning and implementation of the CSP, aligned with the national government priorities, Sustainable Development Goals, wider UN strategies and WFP policies and procedures ensuring timely and effective responses to meet changing food security and nutrition needs; Position WFP as a trusted partner at a national, regional and global levels as appropriate, to raise resources for WFP and enable the effective positioning of WFP to achieve country goals; Build productive relationships with beneficiaries, civil societies, and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs); Act as role model of the WFP values, principles and standards of WFP, actively contributing to creating and enabling an inclusive, safe and harmonious work environment, in which employees are protected from exposure to any form of abusive conduct (harassment, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination), increasing employee engagement through respectful and constructive communication and holding self and other team members accountable for their actions; Ensure that the Office(s) has adequate mechanisms in place for reporting and addressing such abuses, in line with corporate guidelines, and that these are regularly communicated to all staff; Promote health and wellbeing within the workplace and mitigate risks related to stress, health and safety, through taking systematic and measurable actions.

Summary of Main Achievements: Formulated substantial parts of WFP Ethiopia programme documents, strategies, and operational plans in line with WFP corporate policies and strategies, taking into account the government of Ethiopia's priorities and approaches; Provided advice and support to the Programme team and sub-offices to deliver a complex portfolio of programmes with a focus on emergency and refugee operations, nutrition, resilience building activities, and social protection; Developed operational partnerships and maintain established strategic partnerships with line ministries and cooperating partners, and identify and secure opportunities for collaborative approaches and initiatives that improve humanitarian and development assistance in Ethiopia; Enhanced WFP Ethiopia's positioning in different forums on subjects related to food security, the triple nexus humanitarian-development and peace, emergency preparedness and response, nutrition, livelihoods, resilience, transition, and development contexts, and other related issues through direct participation, briefings, information products, and other materials; Led the overall partnership management processes, including with non-governmental organizations and other Unites Nations specialized agencies; Provided advice to the senior management and support sub-offices on operations, partnerships and resources mobilization; Activity supported 17 sub-offices across Ethiopia in programme implementation through regular field visits (including joint visits with donors), guidance and on-the-job support and training sessions; Supported the WFP Country office's resource mobilization efforts by reviewing funding proposals, planning and participating in field visits with donors, etc.

Summary of Main Achievements: Managed the overall programme activities in Burundi, including programmes design, implementation and monitoring and performance reporting; Developed and sustained partnerships with key professionals and NGOs engaged in the field of food security and nutrition in the country; Oversaw the preparation and dissemination of timely analytical and critical reports; Oversaw the assessment of the need for food assistance, draw up plans for its timely arrival in coordination with the government and other donors; Assisted the government in identifying areas where food assistance could be usefully employed as a means to achieving the SDG 2 targets; Liaised with project implementing authorities and undertook visits to review overall project performance; Led a team of Programme staff; Provided continuing liaison with donors representatives in the country, with UN agencies and with NGOs providing technical or other forms of assistance to WFP-funded projects.

Summary of Main Achievements: Led the design and implementation of an efficient and effective results-oriented monitoring and reporting strategy and budget for WFP operations in Chad or part of the country; Led the overall data management and performance reporting system of WFP Chad; Built the capacity of WFP staff and partners managing for results through face-to-face training workshops, peer-to-peer learning, mentoring and coaching, and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned across WFP Chad and beyond; Led and participated in various special studies and surveys when necessary; Developed operational partnership in monitoring and evaluation with other UN agencies, the specialized governmental institutions, Civil society and NGOs; and actively participated in interagency working group meetings (UNDAF, M&E UN committee, food security cluster, etc.).

Summary of Main Achievements: Designed and led the implementation of an efficient and effective results-oriented monitoring and evaluation system for the regional water resources management project in. nine countries (Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Dem. Rep. of Congo, Rwanda, and Burundi); Designed capacity building strategy and trained project staff and key stakeholders (government officials) on managing for development results approach, with a focus on results-based Monitoring and Evaluation, in the nine countries; Planned and organized M&E related meetings, workshops, seminars and reviews with key project stakeholders in the nine countries; Facilitated and participated in project evaluations; Provided technical guidance to the project staff to ensure the effective implementation of the project at regional and national levels; Promoted and ensured communication and good working relations with the Nile Basin Initiative institutions and other project stakeholders in the region; Coordinated the annual work planning and budgeting process; Prepared and disseminated progress and performance project reports (including Annual Performance Reports); Worked closely with the project national offices to ensure that national-level strategies and plans are in line with the overall regional strategies and plans.

Summary of Main Achievements: Coordinated the design and implementation of an efficient and effective results-oriented monitoring and evaluation system for the WFP operations in Guinea-Bissau to support the decision-making process; Coordinated the design and implementation of the food security monitoring system and early warning system in the country; Effectively monitored and updated information flow and consistency on beneficiary needs, food programming, and distribution; and coordinated the overall data management and reporting system; Planned and coordinated the implementation of food security monitoring surveys in the country with the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO; Coordinated the country office annual work planning process

Summary of Main Achievements: Led the design and implementation of an efficient and effective results-oriented monitoring and evaluation system for WFP in the Democratic Republic of Congo to support the decision-making process; Provided guidance and standardized monitoring and reporting tools, and approaches to 14 sub-offices in the country; Led the annual work planning process and review of the country office; Performed special studies and surveys and participated or led joint evaluation missions with other United Nations Agencies, governments, and NGOs.

Summary of Main Achievements: Consolidated monthly statistics and reports on WFP food distribution; Led the design and implementation of an efficient and effective results-oriented monitoring and evaluation system for WFP in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Managed the food assistance to refugees project; Performed special studies and surveys; Trained WFP and cooperating partners staff in Project cycle management; Acted as Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping focal point for the country office; Led the management of the refugee operations and participated or led monthly coordination meetings on humanitarian assistance for refugees; Performed field visits and supervised four WFP field offices by providing guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training sessions.
